While air conditioning can save us from being too hot, it can be pretty expensive, especially if are sat at your desk all day. Or, if you are like me, your desk may be nowhere near the A/C. If that's the case then a small USB fan may be the way to go.
Having a personal fan that's pointed directly at you can often be nicer than a general coolness. We take a look at some of the different USB fans that are out there for you to buy.
OPOLAR 4 Inch Mini USB Desk Fan
This fan will keep you cool while sat at work
The OPOLAR USB fan is perfect for those that spend most of their time at work. It's only 4 inches square, so fits neatly on a desk but it is still powerful enough to keep you cool throughout the day.
I really enjoy the square shape as well. It makes it stand out from the normal round fans.
Rechargeable Battery Operated Clip on Fan
Take the cool weather with you
Our little girl is just two-years-old and when we travel in the summer she really doesn't like her stroller. With one of these rechargeable fans though, we can keep her cool while she is being pushed around which raises her spirits dramatically.
Then when we get back in the car it can be charged while supplying more air movement to the back seats.
Fancii Small Personal Desk USB Fan
This tiny fans pushes a lot of air
I really enjoy the look of this palm-sized fan. It can push a fair amount of too, with its twin fan "cyclone" technology. This fan is for directing airflow exactly where you want it. In my case, that means directly into your eyes. For others, it might be across their hands as they type.
ARCTIC Breeze Mobile
This fan is the epitome of mobile
This teeny-tiny fan is perfect using while outdoors. Because I play a lot of Pokémon Go I use this fan in the power bank I charge my phone with and it offers me a little cool breeze on some of the hotter days while I walk around. It does need to be quite close to your face though.
HOLMES Heritage 4-Inch Mini USB Desk Fan
Why do USB fans have to be ugly? They don't
Most of the fans on this list are functional but not necessarily pretty. This brushed copper USB fan from Holmes feels both retro in look and modern in usage. It should brighten up your office and keep you cool too.
Stay cool
Living in Southern California, I am always on the lookout for good cooling solutions. Sure, I can use my A/C but it costs a fortune and cools down a lot of the house I'm not using. With fans like the OPOLAR USB fan, I can concentrate the airflow where I want it, and for a relatively cheap price as well.
I think my favorite though is the rechargeable USB fan. I love how portable it is — that clip is strong and grips just about anything — and how I can use it to keep my little girl cool in the toughest of SoCal sunshine. She loves it too, especially on full power blowing directly at her face.
